Best Blueberry Picking in Seattle’s Eastside

Blueberry season is just about done, but here’s a quick recap of the fun we had last month! Having grown up in California, berry picking in the summer was new to me when I moved to Seattle. However, it quickly became one of my favorite things to do, especially as a family. Our absolute favorite place to pick blueberries in the summer is Bybee Farms in North Bend.

Not only are there delicious blueberries, but it’s right at the base of Mt. Si! That means GORGEOUS mountain views! Only in Washington, am I right?

Last year we went on a cloudy weekday, and it was quite empty. I don’t know if it’s the pandemic keeping everyone home during weekdays, but this year it was PACKED. Luckily, the blueberry fields were large enough that we didn’t run into anyone else at all in our entire row.

Jemma also enjoyed eating the blueberries as she went along. Juliet, meanwhile, was snug as a bug in my Solly Baby Wrap.

If you look closely, her bracelet says “I’m a Big Sister”

With the sun beating down on us, however, Jemma tired out quickly, demanding we leave to get donuts at the North Bend Bakery. Not a bad idea. Still, our overall haul was about 6 lbs!

Hands on her hips, she kept shouting “LET’S GOOOO! DONUTS!!!!”

Next year, we’ll definitely choose a cloudy day or go multiple times.

If you’re not near North Bend, another fun blueberry u-pick is Larsen Lake in Bellevue. We love walking by the lake to see ducks and take some photos.
