How to: DIY Squid Game Family Costume

There’s no doubt that Squid Game is going to dominate this year’s Halloween. Everywhere you look it’s Squid Game this and Squid Game that – It’s the most watched Netflix series of ALL TIME. While Squid Game is definitely too gory for young family members to watch, it’s actually insanely easy to DIY a Squid Game costume for kids. So if you’re in that sweet spot where your kids will still wear anything you pick for them and have no clue as to what’s going on, maybe Squid Game is the perfect family Halloween costume for you.

Full disclosure: Netflix contacted me a couple weeks ago and paid me to create these Squid Game family costumes and send them some photos. (Did you see us on the Netflix Family instagram or the Netflix twitter?) They did not, however, ask me to post them to social media or write this blog post. My 3 year old already has a separate Halloween costume all planned out, so these Squid Game costumes are really just extra fun for us parents.

However, it turns out a bunch of other parents are thinking about Squid Game family costumes, because I got asked a TON of questions about how we DIYed these Squid Game costumes. To make things a little easier, I decided to link everything we bought in a blog post. Just FYI, these will include affiliate links, so I may make a small commission if you use them.

Also another FYI: Squid Game clothes are selling out FAST. I’ll try to link a couple options, but you may need to do some deep googling.

DIY Adult Squid Game Player Costumes

To make Squid Game player costumes for adults, all you really need are some green tracksuits. But let me tell you – THEY’RE SELLING LIKE HOTCAKES. This is the one that Jeremy is wearing, from Amazon, but I think it’s already sold out in most sizes. I found a similar option from Amazon here.

As of right now, I also see this Squid Game costume on Amazon prime that could work for both men and women. It’s also cheaper than a lot of the other tracksuit sets! I’m sure it’ll sell out soon, so get on it!

My costume is also from Amazon, but it’s just a green fleece full zip. I already owned the green sweatpants. If I had more time for shipping, I would’ve bought a matching set. Aerie currently has a green quarter zip fleece, but it’s only available in XXS. They do have a matching green jogger, however, in sizes M and L available.

Baby Squid Game Costume

Juliet got to wear the red tracksuit for her Squid Game costume. Her tracksuit is actually a matching velour two piece outfit, also from Amazon. The sizes go from 12 months all the way up to 11 years, and seem to be well stocked. For the Squid Game symbol, we cut out a black circle and white triangle from construction paper and simply taped it onto the hood.

Kids Squid Game Doll Outfit

The girls’ Squid Game Doll costume is also an easy DIY. All you need is a yellow collared shirt and an orange sleeveless jumper dress layered on top. Jemma’s yellow shirt is from Amazon and appears to still be in stock. Her orange sleeveless dress is this one from Amazon in the color “coral.”

And that’s it! A super easy DIY family Halloween costume… well.. as long as you can actually get your hands on these clothes.
