I’d never been to see the Skagit Valley tulips before, and we thought this would be a good year to go so we could take more baby photos. For those of you who don’t live in the Seattle area, there are tulip fields about 1.5 hours from Seattle that bloom every spring. Tons of people go just to take photos in the fields. It’s similar to the Carlsbad flower fields near San Diego. They’re nice to look at, but it sure does get crowded.
Thankfully, since Jeremy now flexes his schedule, we were able to go on a Friday. We got extra lucky that it stopped raining by the time we got to the fields. Even on a Friday, though, there were still lots of people! There were flaggers directing people where to park, and the lot was full of cars. We chose to go to Roozengarde, which is one of the flower fields that you pay entry for.
We were SUPER glad that we wore our rainboots, still. The ground was muddy and very slippery. Jeremy wore his Hunter for Target rainboots that I made him drive out and get at 7am the day it released. They were sold out by noon. I wore my Hunter kids size boots that I bought exclusively using Nordstrom notes. What can I say? We like deals.
And check out that baby Patagonia jacket that Jeremy bought for Jemma! So cute!
We really enjoyed taking photos at the tulip fields. Traffic wasn’t bad, and the entry fee was only $7 per person, compared to double that on the weekends. BUT, we don’t think it’s worth the traffic and crowds to go on a weekend.
If anyone knows any other fun flower fields to check out in the Seattle area, let me know!
