If you follow me on Instagram, you know I’m addicted to these biscuit dough hacks. I’ve made malasadas from biscuit dough, Belgian waffles from biscuit dough, and now yuzu glazed donuts! The method is easy: Just cut out holes in your store-bought biscuit dough and deep fry. The yuzu glaze is made of just three ingredients: powdered sugar, yuzu juice, and milk. Add sprinkles and food coloring if you wish, and you’re all set.
How to Make Donuts from Biscuit Dough
If you’re a visual learner, take a look at my Instagram Reel to see just how easy it is to make donuts from biscuit dough. I used a Wilton XL piping tip to cut out the middle circles, but you could use a small cookie cutter or even just freehand it. Deep fry in 350 degree oil for about 3-4 minutes each side until golden brown. Let the donuts cool on a wire rack to let excess oil drip. Don’t forget to fry up the donut holes too!
Yuzu Glaze Recipe for Donuts
The recipe is so easy: mix one cup powdered sugar, two tablespoons yuzu juice, and one tablespoon milk. You can add food coloring if you want. Then dip your donuts into the glaze and sprinkle!
A note about yuzu juice – a lot of times when I see yuzu juice in stores they’re labeled as yuzu extracts. Some are diluted with water, some are not. That means that they’re all going to have different levels of yuzu flavor and acidity. Check the ingredient label and make adjustments as needed to get your desired flavor.
